Number of years involved with indirect sales: 11

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Managing a strategic account has many complex challenges. As the strategic account leader, I am responsible for the overall operations of the team including pre and post sales. Customer satisfaction is paramount as we drive our business to exceed our revenue and profitability goals. For me, teamwork and effective communications is a top priority and has enabled us to excel and exceed our goals consistently.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
GROWTH, GROWTH, PROFITABLE GROWTH is our primary focus. In my role, I work to ensure that we leverage all opportunities to help solve our customers problems with our enabling solutions. If our customer has a problem, we work to address it with our existing as well as expanding product and services offerings.

What programs/initiatives does your company offer to support women in the workplace?
At IIS, we do have some programs specific to women development; however my opportunities for promotion were based on hard work, consistent results and leadership actinos. The bottom-line is that we don't differentiate a man from a women. Results are rewarded at IIS.

Who is your female role model?
My role model is not only my mother, but my best friend. She continually give me life's energy in the way she engages with people, the way she focuses on accomplishing tasks and the way she genuinely has love and passion for her family, work and hobbies. Her enthusiastic level of energy, fuels the fire in me to be a good person and achieve my life's goals.

What advice would you give to young women aspiring to succeed in the workplace?
My advice for young women is "know thy self". Between on-line advertising and social media young women have been served-up multiple styles, brands, values, virtues, and personas. At an early age, they do not have the maturity to know which characteristics they should adopt and make their own. This often causes miss-steps early in their career. Bottom-line, take the time to develop your personal brand by "knowing thy self."

What is your favorite song and why is it meaningful to you?
Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince is meaningful to me because it represents "happy times" in my life. The rhythm is free flowing, relaxing and smooth. It transcends me to a higher place. Summer is my favorite time of the year and in the bleak of winter on Long Island, I can always bring myself back to a sunny day in July when I listen to that song.

What tips do you have on how to find work/life balance?
Mind, body, spirit development is essential to have work life balance. For me exercise is critical. Whether I am walking, doing T25 or yoga, I find that the focus required during exercise helps me to relax and de-stress from my hectic day. Having an Italian, Greek, Irish and Polish heritage, cooking and food is also an important part of my life and there is nothing better than a Sunday dinner with family to confirm what really matters in today's hectic world and to create that work/life balance. Take the time to do the things you love.

Title: Manager Inside Sales
Location: Plainview, NY
Number of years in current position: 12
Number of years involved with indirect sales: 12

How have you personally helped advance your company's channel business over the past year?
Responding at the speed of light is critical to my role and required to support our sales team and service our SLED and Manufacturing customers. IIS's differentiation is customer first and our inside sales team always stays ahead of issues, challenges such as contract and order management, lead times, shipping and delivery, etc. I take my responsibility very personally to ensure that my accounts are managed with the highest level of customer attention and satisfaction. This dedicated focus has resulted in increased revenues and a high retention rate.

What are your goals for your company's channel business over the next year?
Growing IIS's presence in the SLED vertical has been a strategic focus for me over the past year and will continue into 2016. Understanding how IIS and our solutions can improve the quality of education and services provided by local government is top priority.

What programs/initiatives does your company offer to support women in the workplace?
IIS has been in High Tech, as a solution reseller for over 25 years. As the role of women has evolved in the industry, so has the role of women at IIS. Currently, we have two women who are members of our leadership team who have been previous winners of this award and who are experienced channel professionals. As our business continues to grow, our programs expand including Women of the Channel participation, mentoring, training, community development and advisory councils.

Who is your female role model?
I have tremendous admiration for my Mom who is my role model. Growing up in a single parent home, my Mom demonstrated several attributes that have helped me and my two siblings develop into resilient and hardworking adults who care about their family, business and community. She taught us that we need to be committed and accountable by making a material contribution in everything that we do. One of my strengths is that I am very hard working. If there is a task to be accomplished, I can get it done.

What advice would you give to young women aspiring to succeed in the workplace?
To succeed in the workplace, my words of wisdom are: work hard, do your best, learn everything that you can, don't limit yourself, don't take no for the answer and always do the right thing. Being honest and true to yourself is a personal value for me and is essential for women to succeed in business today.

What is your favorite song and why is it meaningful to you?
"Don't stop believing" by Journey is my favorite song because I can relate to it as my personal mantra. Knowing who you are and what your capacity is to achieve is what differentiates those who succeed and those who fail. I choose daily, to leverage my strengths to be the best that I can be and achieve my personal and professional goals.

What tips do you have on how to find work/life balance?
The key word is balance. The industry is fast moving and demanding, so it is necessary to periodically unplug. Go out and have fun, enjoy time with your family and friends, exercise and LAUGH!
